Premier Christy Clark released the following statement on Surrey-Tynehead MLA Dave S. Hayer’s decision to not seek re-election:

“I want to thank Dave for diligently representing the constituents of Surrey-Tynehead for more than 11 years.

“Dave demonstrated leadership and perseverance by working with government to make his community a better place through accomplishments like an expanded Surrey Memorial Hospital, the new Jim Pattison Outpatient Hospital, the Port Mann Bridge replacement, and new schools to ensure Surrey’s future is bright.

“Dave will forever be remembered as one of the hardest working MLAs in the legislature and always put the needs of his constituents at the top of his to-do list. He succeeded at every way in this regard.

“I wish him and Isabelle and their family all the best as he moves on to the next chapter of his life, knowing that he has accomplished much.”
